never outgrow the thrill of christmas day.

happy boxing day!
last week i decided to make a little christmas video. i had the itch to make a movie so i had to do it! i had not really recorded much of the earlier part of december so most of these clips are from the past 5 days.

here are some snapshots from december 25th.

miss evangeline's first christmas!

**we attempted to get another family picture outside, but they were taken on mayci's camera so i'm not sure how they turned out yet. will share if they're good. =)
grandpa leading in a christmas devotional.
time for christmas carols!
and of course, christmas games. we did continue the tradition & play spoons, but i don't have any pictures of that fiasco. it is featured in the christmas video above.
we love grandpa's cracker barrel mugs!
and i had to get another bokeh shot while everyone still has lights up. i'm kind of bokeh obsessed.

i hope everyone had a great christmas! in yesterday's Bible reading, i read the end of the book of John which tells about Jesus' betrayal, arrest, crucifixion, & resurrection.

" Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice." - John 18:37

those ending chapters of that gospel really put the celebration of christmas in perspective. HE was born to die! praise the Lord for his humility in coming to this earth. born to raise the sons of earth! born to give them second birth!

lastly, i want to share i few christmas quotes that are worthy of sharing. =)

"HE became the lowest to show us glory in the highest." - shane & shane (well, i heard it on shane & shane's christmas album, but they may have gotten from someplace else)

World dark.
Light invades.
Righteousness lives.
Penalty paid.
Sin defeated.
Death conquered.
Life given.
- Paul Tripp

that is the christmas story & the reason we celebrate!
