no trespassing.

so....i definitely have a story to go with these photos!

last week i asked val if she would let me take her portrait. she happily obliged & i suggested going to the railroad tracks that i've taken pictures at before & been to multiple times. off we ventured down to the tracks, took a few shots, & then made our way up to our vehicle, when lo & behold we hear a voice greet us. this voice just happened to be a friendly local sheriff who informed us that we were trespassing & had been seen on cameras. remember, this is the exact area i've walked to many times before especially during my childhood. it's the same place that my dad would go to play when he was growing up. the sheriff wanted to know what we were doing. i just couldn't help but think how innocent we looked with my camera strapped around my neck & val (obviously) pregnant. haha!
he escorted us to our vehicle & after about half an hour of accusation & interrogation (okay, probably slightly dramatic, but they thought we were climbing in the boxcars which is just too funny considering val is in her last trimester), they (yes, another sheriff showed up too) let us go.

isn't that a great story to accompany these photographs? i had such a postively radiant subject who kept me calm in the midst of our little adventure. thanks, val! can't wait to meet baby sophie this summer!

the earth laughs in flowers

remember how i gave a fair warning about the amount of tulip pictures to come on my last post? yeah, just keep that in mind before proceeding. =) the next day of spring break allowed me to see even more beautiful tulips with my lovely friend, jessica. you can see some of her pictures here. seeing tulips two days in a row with the best of friends? yup, that makes for a pretty wonderful spring break.
we did get lost once (or twice) in our attempt to go someplace new, but saw these red lovelies during one of our u-turns. =)
we ended up hitting up forest park because can you really ever go wrong there? (answer = no)
a special guest appearance of about 357 gnats.
easter sunday was a beautiful day & another reminder of the precious promises found in God's word. here are a few pictures from the afternoon.
i'm not sure if someone told her this or not, but she said when she wears that hat she looks like anne of green gables. so cute!
the traditional BFF picture.
SQUEEE!!! it's a baby in a bonnet.
awww....the pregnant ladies.
the rays asked me to snap a family picture for them. let it be noted that this was AFTER the easter egg hunt & it was difficult to find shade. no matter what, they're still a cute family!
eli looking like he belongs in the mafia. =)

all in all, a great way to wrap up the weekend with family & friends!

operation tulip 2014

after returning from southern travels, i still had a couple days left of spring break & determined that one of those days would be spent with stephanie as our schedules typically conflict.  we decided to spend the whole day exploring & reviving operation tulip! you can see pictures from last year's operation: tulip by clicking here.

stef's belly just began to pop out within the last week so maternity pictures were necessary! this is my favorite from the bunch.

what a wonderfully encouraging day with my wonderfully encouraging friend! thankful that the Lord has blessed me with some pretty rad amigos.

also, just to give a fair warning i have TWO other blog posts that involve tulip exploration. sorry, it's hard to contain my tulip zeal!
