deep in the heart of texas (part one)

hello! i hope everyone had a wonderful easter celebrating our risen saviour. he is risen indeed!
i'm finally breaking my (almost) two week blog silence & i'm back with plenty of pictures to share! probably too many pictures, but i'm hoping that's okay as it seems to be the normal routine on this blog. i enjoyed spring break and it was fairly productive, but it's back to the grind now. summer break will be here in a blink!
this past week we traveled to the deep south (TEXAS) to celebrate my cousin's wedding. in true loving fashion, we made a (very long) road trip of it & stopped at many touristy & educational landmarks. i've broken the trip up into 3 blog posts, so get ready & brace yourself for part one.

we traveled a few hours during the first evening to break the trip up. we stayed the night in the same town as this awesome route 66 drive in sign.

we began our day at the precious moments chapel before making the long journey to dallas.
i have visited the chapel before, but it must have been about 20 years ago! it was interesting to see & hear about the dedication that the artist behind precious moments, mr. sam butcher, displayed in his paintings.
the chapel grounds were covered with beautiful vines. photo op!
photo bomb!
the st. louis blues just so happened to be playing the dallas stars & so we arrived in dallas just in time to catch the game that night.
such an exciting & terrifying thing to cheer on your hometown at an away game. =)
the next day was wedding time, but first a snapshot of this little cutie - miss anna! her parents graciously hosted us for the week. thank you, gunbys!
a windy, yet 'loving' wedding

Great job again, Maggi. The family shot with all the Blues shirts look really strange without Justin and Val! LOL I'm thinking all us photographers should take an outing to the Botanical gardens. Great place to shoot.
