family camp 2014

family camp is a wonderful time of fellowship & church bonding. this year it did rain a bit, but not during the time i was there. =) i was debating on whether or not to post these pictures, as i only pulled my camera out for the relay races. this was mainly as an excuse not to participate in the  races....haha! i, but for realz, it's a great excuse. the tug-of-war pictures turned out to be my favorite because everyone's faces just say it all.

three good things.

recently, i've stumbled across three incredible resources in the world of social media/blogging. i do not personally know any of these ladies, but have been blessed and encouraged by their ministry. in a world where social media can be a comparison game, it's nice to see ladies using their talents & abilities in a way that points to the gospel. even though my blog is mainly just picture documentation, i want to share these sites so that others may use them as a source of drawing nearer to christ. so bear with me for a bit as we deviate from the norm. =)  here we go!

1. she reads truth
she reads truth is an online community & devotional app. they give out short reading plans & devotionals that women around the world can read together by email, app, or the website. they also offer (beautiful) study packs to accompany the reading plans, but they are not required. i was first attracted to she reads truth by the gorgeous graphics & stunning photography.  as i researched what they believed & what they recommended, i was pleasantly surprised! not only is everything appealing to my eyes, but the theology is sound & gospel-centered. you can go back & do any of the previous studies available online (i'm going through the one pictured above). go subscribe to she reads truth's email!

2. life lived beautifully
another woman using gorgeous photography for the gospel! seriously, though, maybe it's just my isfp personality (wink, wink), but beautiful photography mixed with gosepl truth will just draw me in! gretchen's blog consistently points me to christ & reminds me to glorify God in everything. she seems like a sweet person to chat about life over a magical latte. gretchen is the author of "a God-sized love story" (which i plan on reading!) & also has other pretty items available in her etsy shop. go follow life lived beautifully's blog!

3. quite women co.
i follow quite women on instagram & that account has been a blessing to my soul! the founder is morgan harper nichols (christian artist jamie grace's sister). it amazes me (well, really it's God thing) how much of what she posts convicts/encourages me about so many different issues that i can relate to right now. go follow quite women co's instagram account!

"October arrived, spreading a damp chill over the grounds and into the castle....raindrops the size of bullets thundered on the castle windows for days on end; the lake rose, the flower beds turned into muddy streams, and Hagrid's pumpkins swelled to the size of garden sheds."

^^ just one of my favorite harry potter quotes^^

anyway, pumpkin patches are pure joy. do not proceed with scrolling if you do not like pumpkins!

this picture doesn't really fit in with the 'orange' theme.

wake me up when september ends....oh wait, it has ended. can september really be over? that is hard to believe, but now we are on to october which is always a lovely month.
finally tried out a sharpie diy! it's been floating around pinterest land for a couple years, but i used my labor day weekend to accomplish it after wanting to for quite some time.  i was kinda disappointed because it's starting to smudge. ps - let it be noted that i can't draw a straight line.
food truck friday with the hipster!
